The summer program of lectures with the last conference on "Digital economy: prospects of implementation in Russia" has come to the end.
The summer ended, and with it a course of lectures from the Binary District together with the Strelka Institute and the General partner of VOSTOK.
Binary District community creates a range of courses and unique programs for new technologies: Machine Learning, AI, VR, Cybersecurity, IoT, Biotech, Blockchain.

From 28 to 30 August, together with Strelka Institute, a three-day conference on digital technologies and innovations was held. The conference was held in the format of open discussions and lectures from Russian and foreign business leaders, top managers of leading companies, government agencies, researchers, technology visionaries and experts of Sberbank, Rostech, Rosatom, Group, "Strelka" Institute, Russian Railways, Kaspersky Lab, RVC, HSE and other companies.

David Rowan, editor-in-chief of Wired UK, one of the investors in 45 digital companies, gave an open lecture "what innovations are and how they transform the economy" at the Binary District x Strelka conference. He shared his opinion on how Russia is integrated into the global technological community.
Advanced technologies in the economy
The Russian economy is not an isolated bunker. If financial services based on blockchain technologies become significant in Switzerland, they will also be significant in Russia. If big data Analytics becomes important in tel Aviv, it will become important in Russia. If self-driving cars in 10 years will become popular and widely used, people will travel the roads in California, it will be the same significant trend in Russia. This is part of the global culture in which Russia is immersed, which can learn to build business, government initiatives and infrastructure projects based on what their colleagues in other countries are doing or have already done.
On cooperation between the state and the private sector
Governments, banks, the private sector in Russia are now actively cooperating and creating a strategy for joint development. Successful infrastructure initiatives in the next five years will not be fully initiated and launched in the government, in a private company or in a non — profit organization-all participants in this process will work together.
About the digital future
Russia, like many other advanced countries, is at an early stage of developing a culture of entrepreneurial risk, and this will create the infrastructure for a digital future. I think that Russia already has an early stage entrepreneurial ecosystem that encourages people to take risks and create the technology companies needed to build that future. Without this sort of entrepreneurs, the pioneers, we wouldn't have companies that we know so well today — from Amazon and Apple, to LinkedIn and WhatsApp.
We were able to visit David's lecture in which he shared his experience in creating and implementing innovation companies from around the world, from Australia to the UAE. After the lecture, we met him and presented our magazine, from which he was delighted. Some time after reading, David contacted us and left his feedback.

I enjoyed reading TECHUNTER. I thought that you have defined an emerging culture in a fresh and ambitious way.
