PARIS OLYMPICS 2024 [Highlights]
The modern Olympic Games, first held in Athens in 1896, return to Paris in 2024 for the third time in history, celebrating the centenary of the last Paris Games in 1924. Paris holds a special place in Olympic history, as it was here in 1894 that Pierre de Coubertin founded the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which revived the ancient games for the modern world.
The Paris 2024 Summer Olympics promises to be an extraordinary event, showcasing the world's greatest athletes across 32 sports, including new additions like breaking (breakdancing), skateboarding, sport climbing and surfing. Events were held at iconic locations like the Champs-Élysées, the Seine River, and even the Eiffel Tower, blending the rich cultural heritage of Paris with the spirit of global competition.
