TECHUNTER MAGAZINE x
POLYMER WORKSHOP

When we started communicating with Polymer Workshop some time ago, we wanted to tell the story of an extraordinary cycling brand pushing the boundaries of design, presentation, and innovation within the cycling industry.

A small underdog startup from Copenhagen, aiming to change the game – a beautiful story, isn’t it?
To accompany this story in the TECHUNTER 10 ANNIVERSARY magazine, we thought: what if we collaborated on a product as well? Both sides agreed that it had to be something unique and a little weird. Something that reflects our drive for exploration and their push to experiment. That’s how the idea of the Foldable Chair was born.

The Foldable Chair is a lightweight seating system developed as part of the TECHUNTER 10-Year Anniversary collaboration. Designed around principles of structural efficiency, portability, and material performance, the chair functions as both a practical object and an exploration project. With a total weight of under 690 grams, it is purpose-built for outdoor use and suited for watching cycling races and other leisure activities. Its lightweight construction and foldable design make it easy to carry.

CARBON STRUCTURE

The chair’s primary load-bearing system is built from carbon, forming a rail frame engineered to maximise stiffness while keeping material usage minimal. The rails are carefully shaped to distribute loads efficiently, reducing overall weight and enabling a compact fold. The carbon structure not only supports performance but also gives a precise, engineered aesthetic that reflects the chair’s experimental design.
DYNEEMA® FABRIC

The seating surface uses Dyneema®-reinforced fabric, selected for its high tensile strength, abrasion resistance, and lightweight properties. It carries structural loads effectively while remaining flexible and packable. The material ensures durability across repeated outdoor use, making the chair suitable for everything from cycling events to casual leisure moments.
LIGHTWEIGHT & PACKABLE

Weighing under 690 g, the chair folds into a compact format and comes with a dedicated carry bag for easy transport and storage. The folding design is intuitive and efficient, making it simple to deploy and stow, while its lightness and portability make it ideal for outdoor adventures, from race spectating to extended stops on long rides.
Every chair comes with the TECHUNTER 10-Year Anniversary printed magazine, including an interview with Kasper Anker and Sebastian Tottrup from Polymer Workshop®, where we sat down in Como, Italy, and they shared more details about the collaboration process and their brand vision.
The interview explores the origins of the brand, its approach to materials and manufacturing, and how performance requirements are translated into real products. What stood out most was their hands-on process – iterative prototyping, material experimentation, and real-world testing – showing how curiosity and engineering drive everything they make.
To celebrate the release of the TECHUNTER 10-Year Anniversary Issue and the collaboration with Polymer Workshop®, a public event will take place in Copenhagen on January 16 and 17. The event will combine the magazine launch with a presentation of the physical product, offering visitors a chance to experience the ideas, materials, and processes behind the collaboration firsthand.

The Foldable Chair will be available exclusively through Polymer Workshop® and will go on sale online starting January 16.
