27th of July saw an unveiling of Moncler's new outdoors rugged footwear line at the brand's HQ in Milan. To celebrate the launch of Trailgrip GTX, designed by our dear friend Nathan VanHook, Moncler linked up with Highsnobiety to curate a very special experience and brought in creators, talents and industry's specialists from around the world.
Sneakers come in multiple vibrant colorways, utilizing a chunky aggressive Vibram MEGAGRIP sole, as well as GORE-TEX protective membrane, and a carbon plate for extra stability and energy return.
The model has a very squishy feeling while walking on stable and flat terrain, high absorption level on unstable and rocky environments, a single piece upper with integrated lacing system, stellar detailing and reflective lining throughout.
Our team attended the event alongside our friends from LookatSangi, 114.index, ByBorre, Helen Kirkum studio, and many incredible individuals. We took Moncler's entry into the outdoor footwear market through different terrains, checked out the design process and prototypes of future releases, and tried to document it for your enjoyment.
Check out the photos from the event and make sure to stay tuned for a more detailed and deeper dive into the release, it's design and technology in it, as well as some snippets of what's next on the radar for Moncler.
Thank you to Highsnobiety and Moncler for this experience. Stay tuned for our in-depth review of the shoe and until then check our other relatable materials via the links below.
