In the midst of a packed Paris Fashion Week, Y-3 carved out a moment that stopped us in our tracks. On the evening of June 28, within the historic Palais Brongniart, the adidas x Yohji Yamamoto partnership unveiled its Spring/Summer 2026 collection – not through a conventional runway, but via a bold 30-minute live performance that left us completely captivated.
Directed by choreographer Kiani Del Valle and brought to life by the KDV Performance Group, the four-act piece featured only movement artists – no models, no runway. Just raw, expressive motion that breathed life into the collection. We were genuinely amazed, and deeply appreciate the bravery of this approach: letting the garments be tested and transformed in real time, through the body. Drawing from adidas’ early '90s Equipment line, the collection balanced sport heritage with Y-3’s deconstructed minimalism. Dip-dyed textures, technical summer fabrics, and new takes on iconic footwear like the RC6 and Stan Smith moved effortlessly with each dancer. The result? A visceral, kinetic showcase that reminded us why Y-3 remains at the forefront of innovation – where performance, fashion, and concept collide. See our highlights from this statement below.
