ALBION BY MCQ [Collection review]
Our world is a fast-paced cacophony of everything shouting for your attention. Past years definitely prove that. In this age of 15-second clips and dreadful news all over our feeds, repeated over and over without a stop in sight, it's no wonder many of us started looking back at those "simpler" times. Times back when we were more connected to ourselves and to our world, without a stable signal. Nature is a trend, again. The cycle came back and now fashion dictates us to have a membrane jacket and a nice pair of hikers. Oh, and don't forget to snap a couple of pics on your way to the trail. Well, we are guilty of that ourselves. It's a great trend for sure, but since the cycle just recently shined its brightest LED headlamp at outdoor clothing, it is not a trend that's fully available for everyone, just yet.
We dive deeper into the phenomena of the outdoor and fashion world colliding and merging in our 6th online edition, you can check it out here. However, one of the things that we want to specifically explore further, and which is one of the most crucial for the industry that we so cherish as a whole, is the appearance of dedicated women's lines and collections of functional clothing. No matter if you are walking in the most fashionable district of your city or hiking up the mountain in a blizzard – we bet you'd appreciate your clothing to be designed specifically for you and perform accordingly. We have seen this in the mainstream with big brands via the latest ACG relaunch, where clothing for women was made comfortable and good looking, suited for the great outdoors, you can check our exclusive interview with Nur Abbas of ACG here.
So when the team behind MCQ by Alexander McQueen reached out to us and showed their latest collection, to say we loved it would be an understatement. It's wonderful that creatives from all walks of life are coming together and sharing their passions and ideas through clothing pieces, made to suit your outdoor needs while staying ready for a stroll to the movie premiere, remember those? That's the case with Albion, the latest endeavor that is inspired by nomadic garments and Britain's primeval rural landscape. Albion reimagines the adaptivity of survival wear in a contemporary urban context.

Beautiful and thoughtful combinations of comfort, function, and visual appeal is something that we all are searching for in our daily clothing. Usually, it doesn't tick all the boxes, but here it might be coming closer than ever. Visual mixture of colored floral patterns and oversized combines – a recipe that works so well.
While looking like it's been inspired by military silhouettes, it stay relatively grounded and every day ready. Adaptiveness is seen throughout with adjustable and removable elements on many garments. Knits also draw attention to different patterns and textures within a single piece.

Women's line features an array of silhouettes, ranging from parkas and technical jackets to dresses. All of them look unique and stunning. A mix of classy and relaxed, heritage and today – surely a fine combination.
Venture of such a brand as MCQ into this area of clothing landscape is a fresh addition to the mix and brings a much-anticipated variety and options to less tech/performance demanding and more everyday city-oriented users. Staying true to brands own roots, creatives behind the project expand on the idea of outdoor clothing, making it turn heads on the streets and in the fields.
