THM MACROSHOTS N33 [ROA Minaar]
We were always fascinated by the beauty of different textiles. When you see such a detailed picture of the structure of some amazing fabric, you can definitely understand the whole world of exploration and development behind its creation. And you are just mesmerized by the beauty of it. So we started our THM MACROSHOTS editorial series, where we explore the complexity, depth, and beauty of different fabrics, textiles, materials, and hardware through the macro lens.

ROA Hiking was formed in 2015 as a result of a collective work of the Italian retailer Slam Jam creative team and technical footwear designer Maurizio Quaglia. The team creates hiking shoes with a clear emphasis on design and style. It balances premium and avant-garde materials, modern construction techniques, and a strong visual presentation of the product.
The brand managed to work together with ALYX ['17], Brain Dead ['19, '20, '21], Stussy / Matthew M Williams ['19], OUR LEGACY ['20] and A-COLD-WALL ['21].

The sneakers are made with great attention to detail, using several unusual upper materials at once: textile mesh, ballistic nylon, rubber, and neoprene inserts, as well as crystallized elements on an adhesive basis. The shoes are also equipped with a magnetic Fidlock closure and a shock-resistant, anti-slip Vibram sole. A pure aesthetic pleasure to see so many heterogeneous materials on one pair through our macro lens.

Here is our new THM Macroshot editorial, exploring this amazing shoes.
