Continuing to explore new locations, meeting local communities & industry leaders, and celebrating our printed magazine release we picked Berlin as the destination for our TECHUNTER 09 magazine preview and LABROOM installation.
Combining everything we do in what we've called LABROOM – the space representing our work and our passion for everything functional, merging the objects of design and installations for our audience and community to explore.
Initially shown in Paris earlier this year, we're happy to present its new iteration and dive deep into the world of TECHUNTER again.
As always, the central object of our LABROOM is the TECHUNTER 09 – our latest printed magazine.
After a comeback in print earlier this year in Paris with TH08, we’re excited to present our next print edition.
Weighing around 1000 grams with 256 pages of unique content, we proudly assembled on the pages of our magazine: research articles, interviews, factory and studio visits, editorials, lookbooks, THM Macroshots, as well as our exclusive rubric called ETCETERA, where we aim to give a voice to our fellow creatives and friends to express and share their vision and ideas on the pages of our magazine.
Previewed in Berlin for the local audience, the magazine will be available in November this year through the list of our selected stockists. Stay tuned for more updates soon!
ASHOKAN by CÔTE&CIEL x TECHUNTER
A staple of modular and adaptable design within CÔTE&CIEL’s portfolio, we added a few meaningful details and produced a limited run together to illustrate one of the key interviews of the TECHUNTER 09 issue, showing the best of both our worlds and our shared attention to detail and unspecified functionality. Numbered and remade by hand in her Paris atelier by Emilie Arnault, the legendary design genius of CÔTE&CIEL, we could not be more proud to show this creation in Berlin.
To know more about CÔTE&CIEL and Emilie Arnault, read our exclusive interview in TECHUNTER 09 magazine.
HONSAE WOOL COAT by SAM LIEPKE
Showcasing his fantastic upcoming HONSAE WOOL COAT, SAM with this below knee length wool coat creates a modern take on the classical tailored FW staples of a time past. Utilizing a multitude of patterning techniques, hidden pockets, and construction changes that appear buttoned up, presentable, and minimalistic, but when used or noticed up close, display the immense foresight and detail that goes into every piece by the emerging designer. We were honored to be able to show his work alongside the rest of our archive and guest brands.
For footwear selection this time we have some heavy hitters from new start-up innovations to the recent updates from industry leaders.
SUPERNATURAL RUNNER by CIRCLE SPORTSWEAR is a newcomer of the industry with some breakthrough approach – made in Europe and with end of life solution, the upper consists of wool (provided by Woolmark) and tencel blend, while the sole made of bio-based and recyclable Pebax.
TRAILGRIP APEX GTX by MONCLER is a new version of the already well-known silhouette, originally designed by Nathan VanHook, with its new luxurified personality.
INSULATED KRAGG by ARC’TERYX is a hightop version of the popular slip-on model, which was revealed by the new design and development team in Portland’s Creation Center earlier this year.
To know more about these three updates in the footwear industry, read our factory and studio tours with each brand’s team in TECHUNTER 09 magazine.
Honorable addition for footwear is the OZLUCENT by adidas x Mr.Bailey – the experimental object of shoe science and flawless design, created by Daniel Bailey of CONCEPT KICKS.
The apparel units for this installation exemplifies the intersection of material science and design innovation, which are currently available on the market.
The STORM BREAKER BIKER JACKET by LTEKS and the 3D BOX BAFFLE DOWN SYSTEM by GOLDWIN 0 are prime examples of this synergy.
LTEKS’ jacket, engineered with GORE-TEX PRO 3L fabric, delivers high-performance water-repellency, windproofing, and breathability. Complemented by waterproof zippers and a detachable powder skirt, it is optimized for multi-seasonal use, offering protection from both environmental and mechanical stresses.
GOLDWIN’s 3D down system, meanwhile, redefines insulation efficiency by integrating origami-like pleats that allow down to loft fully in a 3D structure, improving heat retention by 37%. This design not only enhances thermal efficiency, but also offers superior freedom of movement, all while being crafted from 100% recycled nylon, contributing to both environmental sustainability and wearer’s comfort.
The ALCANTARA® PIDGEON JACKET and TACTICAL VEST by MASSIMO OSTI STUDIO represent a sophisticated blend of aesthetics and function.
The Pidgeon Jacket, made from Alcantara® — a material originally engineered for automotive applications — combines a luxurious tactile feel with a high durability and performance.
The incorporation of heat-sensitive mesh tapes and anti-drop cloth treatment showcases how material manipulation can enhance garment functionality in changing conditions.
The Tactical Vest takes modularity to the next level with its ultrasonically welded PVC panels and removable graphene down inserts, enabling quick adaptation in various environments.
Designed using recycled polyester and hydrophobic microfibers, this vest pushes the limits of performance gear, providing both sustainability and versatility in one sophisticated package.
We appreciate everyone who came to support us in Berlin for this new LABROOM edition and we can’t wait to discover new locations next year, bringing the world of TECHUNTER to your city!
